The year 2020 was an anomaly due to the pandemic, which severely impacted our financial performance while enhancing various environmental parameters given the significant reduction in number of flights and introduction of the work from home (WFH) programme. The outcomes are reflected in the model depicted below. ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIAL GOVERNANCE • S.O.S Campaign for local businesses benefited close to 1,600 SMEs • 3 new social enterprises granted RM189,104 • Completed RM3.8 million “To Indonesia with Love” post-disaster project • >7,034 staff completed anti-trafficking online training • IKHLAS raised RM1,322,267 in pandemic aid • Enhanced health & safety measures for guests • Remote safety assessment programmes developed • NPS increased from 38 in 2019 to 52 • Launched Allstar Peer Support Programme • RM13.4 mil spent on Allstar training OUTPUTS & OUTCOMES • Revenue: RM3.1 billion* • Fixed cost reduction: 52%* • Flight capacity: 29% of capacity in 2019* • Load factor: 74%* • Rescue & repatriation flights: 410 • Launched: airasia super app; Freightchain, the world’s first digital air cargo network built on blockchain; Santan home delivery; Redbeat Academy; airasia farm, connecting farmers directly to food businesses; airasia food for food home delivery; airasia fresh, a fresh and frozen food category • Fuel productivity: 20.28 g/RPK (2019: 29.61 g/RPK) • Lower electricity consumption intensity: 99.4 kWh/m 2 (2019: 113.4 kWh/m 2 ) • Lower water consumption: 56,218m 3 (2019: 86,361 m 3 ) • Recycled 9,545kg of waste from RedQ • Recycled 84,793kg of cabin waste • New Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Policy (ABAC) • Reviewed Whistleblowing Policy • Listed in FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index • Transferred manual risk registers onto online Red Radar * These figures refer to the Consolidated Group, ie AirAsia Malaysia, AirAsia Indonesia, AirAsia Philippines and other subsidiaries.
